Recruitment campaign underway for Deputy Chairperson—Refugee Appeal Division

​​​The Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB) is currently seeking to fill the position of Deputy Chairperson, Refugee Appeal Division​, through a Governor in Council (GIC) appointment process.

As one of four divisions that make up the IRB, the Refugee Appeal Division decides appeals of decisions made by the Refugee Protection Division to allow or reject claims for refugee protection. Reporting to the IRB Chairperson, the Deputy Chairperson both drives the work of the division and is a contributing and active member of the senior executive team.

The ideal candidate is someone with robust legal, adjudicative and management experience, and a keen interest in playing a leading role within the Government of Canada's largest administrative tribunal.
