IRB publishes its Forward Regulatory Plan 2024 to 2026

​As part of its ongoing effort to modernize and become more efficient, the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB) has published its Forward Regulatory Plan for 2024 to ​2026.

The plan provides information on the Board's plan to modernize its rules for all 4 divisions over the coming years.

Rules establish the processes and procedures for the:

  • Immigration Division (ID): related to detention reviews and admissibility hearings
  • Immigration Appeal Division (IAD): related to appealing decisions on immigration matters
  • Refugee Protection Division (RPD): related to making a claim for refugee protection in Canada
  • Refugee Appeal Division (RAD): related to appealing decisions on claims for refugee protection
