As part of its ongoing effort to modernize and become more efficient, the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB) has published its Forward Regulatory Plan for 2024 to 2026.
The plan provides information on the Board's plan to modernize its rules for all 4 divisions over the coming years.
Rules establish the processes and procedures for the:
- Immigration Division (ID): related to detention reviews and admissibility hearings
- Immigration Appeal Division (IAD): related to appealing decisions on immigration matters
- Refugee Protection Division (RPD): related to making a claim for refugee protection in Canada
- Refugee Appeal Division (RAD): related to appealing decisions on claims for refugee protection
