Policy-making at the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada
The Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB) decides a wide range of immigration and refugee matters in its 4 Divisions. The Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and Regulations give general guidance. Court decisions also help guide this work.
The IRB develops tools to help decision-makers interpret that guidance and apply it to each case they decide.
