​Assessment by the Public Health Agency

The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) has assessed the public health risk associated with COVID-19 as high for Canada. Public health risk is continually reassessed as new information becomes available.

The Public Health Agency of Canada is closely monitoring the spread of COVID-19 in other countries.

How the IRB is monitoring COVID-19

The IRB has established a National COVID-19 Working Committee to monitor and address the situation as it unfolds.

The Public Health Agency of Canada has reviewed our detailed health and safety protocols and concluded that they “offer robust measures to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 infection.”

You are also reminded to register for the Emergency Response Mass Notification System to receive real-time updates on building closures or other security ​measures that could arise.​

What to do if you’ve become ill or tested positive after working onsite​

If you’re ill or showing symptoms of COVID-19, reduce your contact with others and keep a safe distance from others. For helpful information and steps you’ll need to take if you’ve recently worked onsite, visit COVID-19: employee illness and leave.
