In the near future, additional security measures will be implemented at Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB) offices, which will include the installation of metal detectors in certain locations.
IRB personnel as well as counsel in good standing with and in possession of a membership card from a regulatory body, such as a provincial law society or the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants, will not be subject to the security screening measures, including the metal detectors. Details related to all other visitors entering the building are still being determined.
Once in effect, information on these security measures and their associated procedures will be available at respective IRB offices and on the IRB’s website.
Persons entering IRB offices are reminded to refrain from bringing
prohibited items onto IRB premises, unless prior approval is obtained.
If you require further clarification or accommodation, please contact the IRB prior to your scheduled visit by emailing the
IRB’s Security Services or by contacting the
appropriate regional office.
Your support and cooperation are appreciated.
